Over the next few weeks students will begin the foundation for preparing for the mock Constitutional Convention. Doerre students enjoy the Constitution Convention where they role play various delegates and debate these historical ideas in a large group setting. The most efficient manner of contacting me is by email. Dates for assignments are posted on the calendar.

DI COMMUNITY OUTREACH SPONSOR
The Doerre Destination Imagination Community Outreach Team named the Transformers selected the challenge of diminishing multi-cultural bullying by demonstrating good deeds to transform negative stereotype attitudes regarding students of diverse cultures. The activities conducted by the DI team involved:
1.Saluting the Veterans past and present with an appreciation service display with letters and developing an original patriotic CD for Veteran family members at Doerre. Doerre PTO & Mrs. Shanna Downing, PTO President; Mrs. Susan Housen, Doerre Music Teacher-Community Resources
2.Collecting books for the Doerre Special Needs students that were interest and reading level appropriate was conducted. Mrs. Margaret Bear, Ms.Gretchen Hock and her Adolescent Reading Classes, and the Doerre PTO-Community Resources
3. Box Top drive to assist the Doerre Pto Collection due to the economy was conducted. Doerre PTO & Students-Community Resources
4.Transformers established a "Wall of Good Deeds" saluting students who had contributed to various community projects. Transformers & Students-Developed the Wall
5.Assisted Wunderlich Farms and Klein Museum by folding about 2,000 programs for the fourth grade tour given to 26 schools in Klein ISD. Ms. Lanell Allee, Museum Curator-Community Resource
6.Book Drive for McDougle Elementary second grade students who were 67 percent below the poverty level. Mrs. Dawn Kirkland, McDougle teachers, Doerre students/parents, Ms.Gretchen Hock's Adolescent Reading Classes-Community Resources
7.Developing a technological presentation for Texas history students to enjoy the only school oriented German museum in Texas, the Wunderlich and Klein Museum. Mrs. Lanell Allee, Museum Curator & Mr. David Casillas, Doerre teacher-Community Resources
8.The 2013 DI Community team placed 13th in Global Competition held in Tennessee by collecting over $6,000 worth of toys, blanket,etc for Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.
