Our Bobcat students read a TON of good books this summer! Tomorrow (Friday August 28) is the last day to turn Awesome Summer Readers' Challenge forms in, and I'm expecting even more to be turned in in the morning! Have you turned yours in yet?
Take a look at a few more of our summer readers! We are so happy that our friends read all summer long!
It was so much fun to see all our Bobcats, old and new, back in the building at our annual Meet the Teacher event! Now I can't wait to get back to school so I can get caught up with all my friends and meet our friends that are new to Benfer! We'll see you all Monday!
One thing that I know is that we have a lot of FAMILIES THAT READ!! WooooHoooo!
Look at these family readers below.
G and his brother B are just the latest members of their family to be big Bobcat Readers! Their whole family loves books and reading, and I'll bet they've been reading so they earn an invitation to our Sundae Monday Reading Celebration!
Our second family of readers is L and her brother W. They look like they're having fun reading outside! What a cool fort! And I think L's picture looks like a magazine ad for enjoying a good book in the sunshine!! They're ready for the Sundae Celebration too!
We only have a few days of summer left, but our Bobcats are still reading, reading reading! Take a look at these friends enjoying great books and working on completing their Summer Readers' Challenges!
The picture of K below is a little bit dark.....but that's because he's reading in an awesome BLANKET FORT! :)
This is of one of our amazing 2nd grade readers. A loves to read, and I know she enjoyed fun books all summer long! Both K & A are so
ready for their exciting school year to begin! Monday's the day!
The start of school year is just around the corner, and we're all excited about it here at Benfer! The summer has been filled with lots of traveling adventures for many of our Bobcat teachers and staff! Take a look at some of their pictures though. No matter how near or far they travelled, all of them seem to have something in common.....they all took books with them to read on their vacations! Take a look at some of the interesting places our friends settled down to read this summer....
5th grade teacher, Mrs. Day, traveled to Salzburg, Austria and she visited quite a famous fountain in the Mirabell Gardens. In the movie The Sound of Music
, Julie Andrews and the Von Trapp family children danced and sang the song Do Re Mi
around this fountain. It is a very famous movie scene, and Mrs. Day was right there reading! What a Wild Reader!

You don't have to travel too far to enjoy a good book in the shade! Mrs. Green took a moment out at her lake house this summer to read a book on her iPad! I wonder if she was reading an e-book from the Klein Digital Library
? Wow! She looks relaxed!
We have some more world travelers on the Benfer staff! Can you guess where Mr. Hunt was reading in this picture? Oh my! And WHAT is he reading? Take a close look! We'll have to get Mr. Hunt to tell us all about his adventures in Japan!
Take a look at Mrs. Botello on vacation at the Inn of the Mountain Gods! This is an inn that is owned by the Mescalero Apache tribe in the mountains of New Mexico. What a fabulously beautiful place to enjoy a good book, Mrs. Botello! Great picture!
Keep reading, Bobcats! We are getting ready for you up at school! We'll see you on the 24th!
Have you read to your pet lately? It's fun! This afternoon, while it's super--duper hot outside, take a few minutes to read to your dog or cat, parrot or ferret! Even fish and stuffed animals love it when you read to them! Just read! Chris did, one afternoon a few days ago! Look how happy his dog looks!
