We have extended the deadline to turn your Summer Reading Challenge Forms in, so if you forgot yours at home this week, be sure to bring it on Tuesday, Sept. 2! We will be sending home invitations to the Sundae Monday Event that day in Tuesday folders!!
Here are a couple more Bobcats who read some great books this summer! 3rd and 4th graders like our friends below, read widely all year and focus on how reading wonderful books can improve their own writing!
Read on, Bobcats!
Take a look at our latest Summer Reader selfies! Here's a 2nd grader that enjoyed some books and she completed at least 10 Summer Reading Challenges, so she'll be invited to the Sundae Monday Event on Sept 8!
Did you read under a blanket this summer? Or read on a rainy day? Or enjoy a comic book or graphic novel? If so, be sure to bring Mrs. Camp your Challenge Form tomorrow, and you might get an invitation to celebrate those books you enjoyed at the Sundae Monday Event!
Wow! We have some readers around this place! Take a look at a couple more of our Bobcats who spent some time enjoying good books! Here we have a 5th grader and a 2nd grader! What about the teachers? I think we need a few more teachers readers on our blog too! Don't you? Maybe next week...
Don't forget to have your parents email me your reading selfie--and everyone turn in your Super Summer Reading Challenge forms before this Friday!! Sundae Monday is Sept. 8!
I hope you're all finishing up your Super Summer Reading Challenge forms too! Keep reading, and be sure to ask your parents to email your summer reading selfies to me this week! Turn in
your Reading Challenge forms by this Friday
as well, so we can start planning for our Sundae Monday Celebration on Sept. 8!
Speaking of selfies...
Take a look at these Bobcat readers! It looks like they are relaxing and enjoying some great books! I even see one reading in her car. That's on the Summer Reading Challenge! Way to go!
OK Bobcats--Have you sent in your reading photos yet? Join the fun!
We already have several students who have turned in their Super Summer Reading Challenge, and here's one of them!
Looks like K, a third grader, spent a lot of time reading good books this summer. What have you read lately that you think other students might enjoy? Leave a comment below!
Yes! We teachers love to read for fun too! Take a look at first grade teacher Mrs. Labrosse this summer! She read one of her favorite stories again. Re-reading a book is sometimes the greatest thing to do, because it is like visiting old friends!
Looks like Mrs. Labrosse's son enjoys reading too! If you have a little sister or little brother, a young cousin or neighbor, you should try reading to them too! It's fun!
Have you been enjoying some good books this summer like this amazing Bobcat reader? S looks like she's chilled out and enjoying that book. I wonder what it is? Maybe it was something that we need to have in the Benfer Library!
Have you read a fantastic book this summer? Keep it in mind, because we are going to be recommending books to each other all year long! Leave a comment below if you have a book that you'd recommend!
Another Summer Reading Selfie came in today! This time it is our friend K, who is reading an adventure story that he got at the public library! Can you guess how I know that he got this at the public library? If so, click the Comment
button below and tell me!
I hope you have all had a chance to read different and fun books this summer, whether it was at the Barbara Bush Library, at your friends' houses, or at home! Be sure to have your parents email me your Summer Reading Selfie before Friday, August 29!
A few more Super Reader Selfies have come in, and I'm excited to share them here! These Bobcats are not only great readers themselves, but they're sharing books with their younger brothers and sister, who aren't quite reading alone yet! What an amazing way to share! That's how you make good readers!
These Benfer readers even created new book covers for the books they enjoyed this summer! Take a look!
Way to share your reading, Bobcat Brothers! We can't wait to see you when school starts! Mrs. Doyle and I are getting the library ready for you and all our Benfer friends! See you August 22!
