Second Grade - Mathematics
I am so excited about all the learning adventures we are going to have this year. Attendance is important. Please, make every effort to insure your child is at school each and everyday.
You can help your child be successful in the classroom by letting them know your expectations for classroom behavior and work habits.
Additionally, find opportunities for your child to read and perform math whenever possible in "real-life" situations. One quick and easy example of this is let them help you find a particular brand or item at the grocery store and then ask them how much it would cost if you got two of that item. The more they are exposed to various text and math, and make a connection to the real world, the more motivated they will be to attempt new words and understand that reading and math isn't all about books and what they do at school. :)
